Paul Brunzema receives Student Award from the SEW-EURODRIVE-Foundation for outstanding master thesis
During the Ernst Blickle Award Ceremony on May 11th, 2023, Paul Brunzema received the Student Award of the SEW-EURODRIVE Foundation for his master's thesis "Learning and Forgetting in Time-Varying Bayesian Optimization". The thesis was conducted at the Institute for Data Science in Mechanical Engineering at RWTH Aachen University under the supervision of Alexander von Rohr and its results are published at the leading conference for control (more on this here). The Student Award is awarded annually for outstanding scientific work by students in the fields of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and economics at universities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The purpose of this award by the SEW-EURDRIVE Foundation is to support and promote young researchers. Currently, Paul Brunzema works as a research assistant at the Institute for Data Science in Mechanical Engineering where he develops new learning-based control methods.
