My research resolves around event-triggered learning and the question how to detect changes in the system dynamics based on data and with probabilistic guarantees with the goal to only learn when necessary. My current research focusses on combining triggers with other machine learning and optimization methods such as Bayesian optimization in dynamic environments.

My other research interests are:

  • Bayesian optimization
  • Probabilistic deep learning
  • Incorporation of prior knowledge into probabilistic dynamics models (e.g. Gaussian processes)

Since March 2022, I am a PhD student at the Institute for Data Science in Mechanical Engineering (DSME) at RWTH Aachen University under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sebastian Trimpe. Since September 2023, I am also an associate doctoral researcher at the UnRAVeL Research Training Group. Prior to that, I completed a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a subsequent master's degree in automation engineering with a focus on machine learning and control, both at the RWTH Aachen University.
