I'm a PhD student at the Institute for Data Science in Mechanical Engineering (DSME). My research is at the interface between Machine Learning and Control Theory, in particular, I'm working on learning methods with rigorous guarantees as well as on using prior knowledge in Machine Learning for control applications.
After my Abitur (A-levels) in 2011 I studied mathematics with a minor in computer science at the
University of Bayreuth, obtaining a BSc in 2015. I continued with master studies
at the TU Munich, leading to a MSc in mathematics in 2019, and at the University of Cambridge,
obtaining an MPhil in Computational Biology in 2017. During my studies I was graciously supported by
the Max Weber-Program Bavaria. From September 2019 until January 2021 I was a member of
the Intelligent Control Systems Group at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in Stuttgart
as a PhD student, becoming also an Associate Scholar at the IMPRS-IS,
and the Chair for Mathematical Systems Theory at the University of Stuttgart as a
scientific assistant. In January 2021 I moved fulltime to the Institute for Data Science in Mechanical
Engineering (DSME) at the RWTH Aachen.
